Simon and Shields was conceived in the moments between art and motherhood. In a ballet class of three-year-olds, Kelli and Rebecca watched sheepishly as their daughters Ava and Jessica led a group of future ballerinas astray. While the girls never took to dancing, their moms discovered they shared a common love of creating art. That friendship turned into Simon & Shields.

For years, the passion for art was best expressed in unique projects for school auctions, the most fanciful birthday parties, and in creating art with their own children. In 2004, they decided to go into business doing what they love. They combined their skills to make hand-made papers and ceramics, embellished with paints, found objects and vintage finds. Simon & Shields One of a Kind Works of Art now encompasses everything from gallery-quality assemblages to customized items for special occasions.
